Hi everyone!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Better late than never. I wish I had a better way to communicate with everyone, like e-mail or something, but I would rather not publisize that. So, I am doing well in case anyone was wondering. We just took our exams for the second semester and I'm glad thats over with. We are also still in basketball season with is very exciting. It is my first year playing in high school and I'm really enjoying it. We have also ordered our senior rings so it just shows how much closer graduation is. This weekend is our Winter Homecoming!!! We couldn't have homecoming so we decided to combine it with our Winter Formal and just make it one big dance!!! I think it will all turn out great. I hope ya'll will leave me comments and tell me how things are for you!!!

Hey People! This blog is mainly for my Spring people, but others can still read. I am playing basketball this year and it's lots of fun! Yesterday we had a game and we lost by about 10 points. I did score 6 points though! I was so happy...we played so well. So anyway, In December, a couple of days after Christmas, we will be coming to Houston for a basketball tournament! I'm so excited. I will only be there for 2 or 3 days and I won't be able to come by Spring. So, I was hoping that some of my Spring people will come visit me and watch me play. I don't know exactly where we play or what time, that I will find out soon. What I do know is that we play 2 games on Thursday and one game on Friday. I really hope that ya'll can come to at least one of my games so that I can see you! Bring lots of people too because I miss everyone. So, please leave comments if your interested in coming and I will update those people with the times and places. Thanks!

Sorry that I haven't written in a while. Everything is getting back to normal though! We just ended our first quarter last Friday and in on the honor roll...woot woot! My classes are ok, but somewhat difficult because we have new teachers from the ones we lost. Thanksgiving is appraoching!!! I am so excited! We are having thanksgiving dinner at my house with some family! I get off of school on Wedsnesday, Thurday, and Friday. We have to make up some days lost during Katrina. This isn't a very well written post, but it's a quick one to let everyone know that everything is going fine for me. Basketball season started and I am playing this year! Our first game is Nov. 29 I think. Anyway, back to the books.

Well, I am finally home. Although it doesn't look like home, it sure feels like it. The damage from the hurricane is unbelievable!!! You may see pictures and hear about it, but the intensity doesn't really hit you until you live in it. For instance, the house next door to me got bad damage: gutters, balcony, and roof off. What could do all of this damage? A twister did it. Yep, the house right next door to me was hit by a twister. I had seen pictures of it so I was ready to see it in real life, or so I thought. Once I saw it, I didn't feel like I knew where I was anymore. I was definatly not prepared for the debree and devastation I was faced with. I have been helping clean up since I've gotten home. Although it doesn't sound like the best use of my or anyone else's time, it's the only thing left to do. I don't have school yet. That starts tomarrow, October 3rd, so until then, I will be cleaning like everyone else here. Hurricane Rita is hit Texas and it stinks because I just met some pretty cool people there I hope that everyone did ok. I am still worried though, I don't want anyone else to experience what we did.

I just got cable back about a week after we got here, so I can be online!!! YAY!!! The sad part is that I don't have my sports!!! I live for volleyball, basketball, softball, and other sports. Now, our seasons are cancelled!!! :( Well, there is nothing I can do about it. I will just have to deal.

Leave comments...I love them!!! :)

Keep safe everyone!!!

I miss Spring and some friends I met. Please, keep in touch.

(This is basically my brainstorming for the paper that I will be writing for Mrs. Packman.) Hurricane Katrina hit Lousiana, Alabama, and Mississippi on Sunday, August 28, 2005. My family and I decided to evacuate for Hurrican Katrina on Sunday morning. We left for my Aunt's house, in Texas, at 7:30 a.m. We made two stops along the way and it took us 17 hours and 30 minutes to arrive in Houston, when it normally takes us 5 hours. Once we were settled into my Aunt's house and used to the enviornment, we came for a visit to Spring High School. At first I was very skeptical because I was homesick for my school back in Lousiana, Lutheran High School. The first thing I noticed about Spring was how big it was. Lutheran was 3 buildings put together, making one long hallway. Spring has an upstairs, a gym, football field, and a cafateria. We never had any of those at Lutheran. The Lutheran high students, including myself, were always complaining about not having a gym. Now, we don't even have a school. Our school was destroyed by hurricane Katrina. So, until our school is rebuilt, we have to go to a different school. Spring high school is the total opposite of Lutheran. For the first week, I hated it. I didn't want to give it a chance. But, I am slowly starting to realize that it's not bad at all. Everyone here has been so loving and welcoming. On my first day, I didn't know anyone. I was getting lost wherever I went and was so frustrated. I expected that, but you never really know what something will be like until you live through it. For lunch, I had no one to sit with. I sat secludely in the front of the cafateria, hoping that someone would come and make me feel welcome. That never happened for me at lunch, but it happened more and more throughout the day. While I was sitting a group of people came and sat next to me. It was a wierd feeling not knowing anyone and not feeling like I could be myself. So, I stayed secluded and went on with the rest of the day. Days went by, my classes started getting better, and everyone started getting nicer. Now, it's Friday, and we watched a slide show after announcements. The slide show showed all kinds of Spring students, welcoming all people of Louisiana to Spring. I loved it so much and it was very kind. I think it's great that everyone is taking time out of thier schedule to make us all feel welcome. I am finally starting to feel better about Spring. Once I can find all of my classes by myself, I think I will be fine. So, thank you everyone, for being so accepting and willing to do whatever possible to help me and the other new students. I know that I, as well as the others, appreciate everything.
